A man has two ropes of varying thickness they are not of same size, length nor the same width. Each rope burns in 60 minutes. He has to measure 45 mins. How can he measure 45 mins using only these two ropes.
Answer or Solution : 1. The man takes one of the rope and starts burning both the ends, at the same time he also burns one end of the second rope. 2. After 30 minutes the first rope completely gets burned while the second rope burns till the exact half measurement. 3. The man then burns the other end of the second rope so that the remaining gets burned in 15 minutes. 4. Thus the man burns all the ropes in 30 + 15 = 45 minutes
